Ronette’s story;
October 2009, I went to AZ from Sedona, CA because I was diagnosed a few weeks ago with metastatic breast cancer. It began under the arm and in the absence of any fatty tissue there, it went straight to the lungs, complicating things a bit (but not as bad as if it had gone to other organs in the body). Zap, my husband, has been my front and center man. I can’t imagine having gone through these last few weeks without him. His emotional support and ’round the clock availability has made all the difference in the world to me. My brother, Ryan, has also been the total champ and continues to make sure that the details of this process go smoothly (like setting up this web service). The hardest part of this whole thing is missing out on being with Xakota, my daughter, especially this being her last year in high school. So for this week I get to be a full-time mom, and that’s truly good medicine. I’ve already completed 8 LV sessions and next week I begin chemo.
Gratitude and Blessings to you all.
Love, Ronette
****************************
Friends – It is with equal amounts of sadness and relief that I share word of Ronette’s passing. After a long, arduous, and painful struggle with cancer, our beautiful wife/mother/sister/friend/soul mate left us around 12:30 pm today. Xakota and I are together; crying, laughing – embracing.
There simply are not enough words to describe our deep thanks to the great many of you who have contributed to our lives in so many ways. For me, neither are there enough words to describe the impact that Rono had on my life. She was as sweet and nurturing as they come. Best of all, she was a fabulous mother for our dearest daughter Xakota. She was wise, funny and had a real penchant for making awesome Caesar salads.
I hope that in knowing Ronette, and having read her words, her desire to make the world a more peaceful and loving place has had as big an impact in your lives as it has in ours. She will be missed beyond measure. Information on her service and Nov. 3 “Ride for Ronette” bike ride will be coming around.
This is a photo I shot of Rono in Jerome, Arizona last year where we found signs that really epitomized everything that Ronette stood for….loving life and being both wonderful and full of wonder. We love you forever Rono.
Thanks again for the cards, kindness and compassion. Hug the kids, love well, be courageous and always LiveStrong.
Cheers,
Zap and Xakota
